Get to know our newest #HoneyBadger, Alicia.

Alicia grew up in Waterville, Maine and majored in Music Therapy at the University of Miami. She joined the Navy and worked on RADAR and Flight Deck Communications equipment. In 2003 her ship, the USS Kearsarge, deployed to the Persian Gulf with six other ships and 10,000 Marines for Operation Iraqi Freedom. After the Navy, Alicia finished her degree in Psychology from Purdue. Eight states and 18 years later, she returned to Maine to raise her two boys, Jake and Joe.

Alicia’s start in digital marketing was managing the Twitter account for BringChange2Mind, a foundation created by Glenn Close to end the stigma of mental illness. She also worked for a small family restaurant in Augusta, Maine and managed all aspects of their digital marketing and earned media campaigns. It was intuitive for her to make the transition from Psychology, which is the “scientific study of the human mind and behavior,” to the marketing and communications field. At Purdue, she studied how to leverage data and statistics to improve outcomes and cost effectiveness while engaging consumers.

In her spare time, she and her sons enjoy all types of live music and if they need to travel to get there, even better! She also spends time serving her local community on the boards of The Family Violence Project, The Betsy Ann Ross House of Hope, and as a Mentor for the Veteran Mentors of Maine.
