Shannon Kinney, Founder, Client Success Officer
Shannon has over 20 years of experience in the development of successful Internet products, online sales and marketing strategies. She has worked on the teams developing successful Internet brands such as cars.com
, and over 60 online media properties for newspapers all over the U.S. and Canada. Prior to that, she spent over 10 years in media sales and sales management in Maine. She is an experienced speaker, trainer, advisor and consultant, and has worked with small and large companies alike, and has served more than 28,000 small businesses in online marketing workshops. She has been recognized as a Woman to Watch by Maine Biz, and as a Local Digital Innovator by the Local Media Association.
Molly Gray, Director of Sales and Operations
Molly’s enthusiastic personality has driven her toward and helped her be successful in customer service, general management, real estate and sales. Molly is originally from Bethel, Maine. She attended Gould Academy and then Jacksonville University in Florida for high school and her bachelor’s. She has lived in Midcoast Maine since 2007. Her career has led her not only to a variety of positions from sales and management in the hospitality industry, real estate, and being an entrepreneur; it’s also led her around the country to Florida and Colorado for some time. Dream Local Digital has been a fresh move forward for Molly. She’s excited to combine many of the skills she has obtained throughout her career and looks forward to working with future clients.
Alyssa Rolerson, Senior Project and Research Manager
Alyssa began at Dream Local Digital in April of 2010 as an intern and has since been promoted to Online Marketing Strategist and Project Manager. In May of 2012 she received her Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management from the University of Maine at Augusta. Alyssa was born and raised in Maine, and attended the University of New Haven for one and a half years before transferring to UMA. Alyssa now oversees the project and process management team as well as the Dream Local Digital internship program.
Jason Andreoni, Designer and Production Manager
Jason has demonstrated success in helping businesses market themselves through print and online media, having worked for a combined nine years as a graphic designer and web designer/developer for a local media company. He has also been working in Web Design and Front End Development since 2004 on a freelance basis with a client base that spans the state of Maine. He handles every aspect of the process from the initial client meeting to the full deployment and delivery of their web site. At Dream Local Digital, Jason manages all production of graphics, Facebook page customizations, web work, graphic design projects, e-mail campaigns and more.
Dale Landrith, Chief Strategist
Dale grew up in Camden, Maine where he graduated from Camden-Rockport High School. He attended the University of Hartford’s Barney School of Business for two years, and then finished a double major in Marketing and Management at Husson College. Dale has over ten years of strategic marketing and operations management experience, and has worked with numerous companies in manufacturing, distribution, and retail markets. Dream Local Digital is an industry change for Dale as his prior experience has been mostly in Recreational Marine companies, but his extensive experience in business marketing, operations and consulting are a perfect fit for the working with small to medium sized businesses on their marketing strategies.
Tim Reynolds, Business Development Manager
Tim is a digital revenue expert with over 15 years’ experience creating and executing local digital revenue strategies. He is a former radio DJ who has also spent time as a television research director and head of digital for large and small broadcasting companies and publishers. While at the Meredith Corporation, Tim led a team that launched local TV websites and mobile applications in markets from Atlanta to Portland, OR to Hartford, CT resulting in millions of dollars in new digital revenue. At New Age Media, he created a digital revenue division that created new local revenue solely through reach-extension products, SMS, and promotions.
Mark Whittaker, Senior Marketing Strategist & SEO Manager
Mark loves to use his more than 30 years of experience to help clients communicate with customers and prospective customers. He has been a newspaper writer, editor, online director and consultant. He has a journalism degree from Temple University in Philadelphia and a master’s certificate in Internet marketing from the University of San Francisco. Mark now lives in Pittsburgh, where he and his wife, Susan, spend their spare time learning to live in a house ruled by five cats and a dog.
Stephanie Cook, Operations & Accounting
Stephanie began at Dream Local Digital in June, 2013 and now provides operational support and accounting management. She attended the University of Maine where she received a Bachelors degree in Liberal Studies with minors in Accounting and Psychology. She has held various positions in accounting services, most recently running her own bookkeeping services business. Stephanie is from Thomaston, Maine and works in the Dream Local Digital headquarters in Rockland. In her spare time she enjoys practicing Kundalini and hatha yoga, horseback riding, and spending time with her daughter.
Alyssa Mako, Online Marketing Strategist
Alyssa has lived in the Midcoast area for seventeen years. Raised in Hope, Maine, she graduated from Camden Hills Regional High School in 2008 and recently finished her Bachelor of Arts degree in English at the University of Maine at Orono. Alyssa has been a part of the local community for a number of years: she was a member of the Pen Bay Sailfish Swim Team for twelve years, and worked for the Penobscot Bay YMCA by helping to develop youth through swimming lessons and summer camp. She was also a member of the UMaine community during her four years in Orono as a Resident Assistant. Her past community involvement gave Alyssa the skills to interact with people, desire to get involved and see local businesses thrive. She is very excited to use her skills as a writer and to learn more about social media to support the community that has made such a huge impact on her life.
Kasey Ahlquist, Online Marketing Strategist
Kasey was born and raised in Maine. After graduating from Scarborough High School in 2002 she attended school in Boston and Maine before earning her Associates degree in Legal studies. She spent several years working as a Social Security Disability Representative, helping clients maneuver the complicated Social Security hearing process. Through this work and several years in customer service in various industries, Kasey has developed a talent and passion for helping people reach their goals. Kasey and her husband just recently welcomed their first baby, a little girl. She is excited to join Dream Local and looks forward to using her talents and enthusiasm to help local businesses grow and thrive.
Amanda Stover, Senior Project Manager
Amanda has over five years of experience in process analytics and project management, focusing her talents on the coordination of tasks and resources to achieve project goals. As a student at Maine Maritime Academy
she studied International Business and Logistics, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in that field. Amanda has been trained in the standards and practices of the Project Management Institute required for the Project Management Professional certification and she specializes in business communication practices and staff education.
Abby Hilt, Marketing Strategist
Abby Hilt, a recent graduate of the University of Maine, Orono, joined Dream Local Digital as a Marketing Strategist. She holds a B.A. in Journalism and a minor in Art History. She has been interested in publishing and content creation since middle school and is happy to be helping our clients tell their stories online. In her free time, Abby enjoys reading books, watching far too many YouTube videos, and hanging out with her dog.
Edward Gaug, Senior Marketing Strategist
Edward recently moved to Maine, from Connecticut, where he worked for CafePress as a Social Media & Content Coordinator. He has an extensive background in journalism, social media, and graphic design, and has held positions at the Hartford Courant, LogoSportswear and Live Breathe Futbol. In his free time, Edward enjoys spending time with his wife Bridget, watching and playing soccer as well as discovering new craft beers. He lives in Orono and will be working inbetween the company’s head office in Rockland, and Bangor, building and implementing social media strategies for Dream Local Digital clients nationwide.
Lindsey Grant, Operations and Sales Support Specialist
Lindsey is our Operations and Sales Support Specialist, based in the Rockland home office. She will be working with the executive team, the internship program and supporting operations, while playing a supporting role to the entire #honeybadger team. Lindsey is currently attending the University of Maine at Rockland to pursue her degree in Liberal Studies, with a concentration in Business Administration, and hopes to develop skills that will benefit Dream Local Digital as she grows with the company. Previously, she built experience in the financial services industry as part of the management team in a Senior Customer Support role at Boston Financial Data Services. In her spare time Lindsey enjoys Maine beaches, hiking trails and frequently uses her Maine State park pass with her son. She also has a passion for instructing indoor cycling classes.
Robbie Basquez, Marketing Strategist
Robbie grew up in Brunswick, Maine and graduated from Brunswick High School in 2009. After high school, he attended Roger Williams University in Rhode Island where he graduated in 2013 with a degree in Marketing. Robbie is one of our many talented marketing strategists here at Dream Local Digital and will be working to build strategic content for his clients across the nation.
Robbie now lives in Brunswick, where he enjoys photography, sports and spending time with his family.
Kaye Peabody, Marketing Strategist
A Maine native, Kaye Peabody is a recent graduate of Saint Joseph’s College of Maine and joined Dream Local Digital as a Marketing Strategist. She holds a B.S in Business Communications, with minors in both History and Theology. Kaye has always been interested in online marketing, and is excited to be working with clients to help them reach their full potential.
Kaye is from Warren, Maine, and in her spare time you will find her searching beaches for sea glass and fossils, working on her photography, or working toward her Black Belt in Tae Kwon Do.
Bob Holtzman, Editor
Bob Holtzman has been working in marketing communications for more than 25 years, having served as senior writer, account executive and editorial director at the PR agency Thomas Rankin Associates; director of sales & marketing at Moon Mountain Publishing; and marketing director at Penobscot Marine Museum before joining Dream Local Digital as an Editor. He has also worked as an acquiring editor at McGraw-Hill and as a copyeditor for Wild Fibers magazine.
Bob is an avid canoeist. He has written three books on outdoor sports, and he owns and manages Mythic Gear, a manufacturer of drysuits for paddlesports.
Liz Cox, Designer
Liz grew up in Appleton, Maine and graduated from Camden Hills Regional High School in 2012. She is currently a senior at Ithaca College in New York, where she is pursuing a Bachelors degree in Communication Management and Design and a minor in Art. Liz currently lives in Camden, and has spent past summers interning locally with Habitat for Humanity and the Sierra Club.
In her spare time, Liz enjoys doodling, skiing, and getting outside.
Megan Angelastro, Marketing Strategist
Megan is a recent transplant to Maine from New York City, where she honed her marketing and PR skills as a part of Ketchum’s business development department. She fell in love with Midcoast Maine shortly after graduating from Muhlenberg College in 2012, when she spent a season sailing the Penobscot Bay on the Schooner Stephen Taber. Megan is thrilled to be back in Rockland and putting all of her skills towards helping small businesses grow their online presence.
When she’s not typing and clicking away in the Dream Local Digital headquarters, you can find Megan sailing out on the bay, hiking, beachcombing, desperately learning to knit, and compulsively checking Instagram.
Sierra Hayes, Executive Assistant & Office Coordinator
Sierra is based in Rockland and will be working directly with Dream Local Digital founder, Shannon Kinney, providing administrative and logistical support for her and the team. She grew up in Sioux Center, IA and graduated from South Dakota State University in 2012 with a degree in Human Development Family Studies. Upon finishing her course work, she moved to Connecticut and became a Therapeutic Horseback Riding Instructor. Previously, she worked at Therma-Tron-X in Sturgeon Bay, Wisconsin as an Administrative and Logistics Assistant. Sierra recently moved from Sturgeon Bay to Warren, Maine.
In her spare time, she enjoys riding horse, relaxing on a beach, fishing with her husband, and visiting family and friends. She also enjoys exploring the area to get to know Maine a little better.
Merritt Becknell, Designer
Merritt Becknell recently graduated with her BFA in Applied Design & Digital Imaging. She has experience working with clients on a variety of design services. Merritt has a deep appreciation for the power of the image to communicate, inspire, & inform. .
Alexandra Desaulniers, Marketing Researcher
Alexandra joined DLD as a Market Researcher in August 2015. Raised in Turner and Rockland, Alexandra attended Milton Academy in Massachusetts before returning to the great state of Maine, graduating with Honors and Distinction from Colby College with a dual BA in Anthropology and Theater & Dance. Her previous professional experience includes from non-profit, arts, and academic communications and marketing as well as getting her hands dirty on her family’s oyster farm in South Thomaston.
Based in Washington, DC, Alexandra pursues a burgeoning acting career in her spare time.
Amy Matis, Marketing Researcher
Amy joined Dream Local as a Market Researcher in August 2015. A born and bred “Down Easter,” having grown up in the Jonesport region of Maine where she has had jobs raking blueberries, making wreaths, as well as digging clams on occasion. Other work includes working in the childhood education field, being an art gallery assistant, and raising two rather energetic kids. Amy spent time studying at Wheaton College and the University of Southern Maine before settling down to graduate from the University of Maine at Machias with degrees in both English Literature and Fine Arts.
On the serious side, she likes to support Maine farmers and local businesses as much as possible. She is excited to be officially joining the Dream Local team.
Sienna Barstow, Winter 2016 Intern
Sienna is a native to the great state of Maine. Sienna grew up in Thomaston, Maine and graduated from Oceanside High School in 2014. She is currently a sophomore at Endicott College in Massachusetts, where she is pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Digital Journalism and a minor in Computer Science. She plans to save the world and become a broadcast travel journalist. Sienna currently resides in Thomaston, and has been involved in past local internships at the Ralston Gallery and The Courier-Gazette.
Other accomplishments that Sienna modestly brags about include playing rugby for Endicott College, being named Miss Congeniality during the 67th Lobster Festival Sea Goddess Pageant, and that one time she met Dennis Quaid.
Stephanie Thostenson, Project Management Assistant
Born in Minnesota, raised in Virginia, Stephanie settled in Camden in early adulthood, knowing from day two that she had found “home.” Earning a BA in Social Sciences from UMaine Augusta in 1998, she has since applied her enthusiasm for life and passion for making a difference in the non-profit field beginning with the Teen Center in its start-up phase and then Partners in Ending Hunger. She then took a break from her career to be home raising young children and renovating her 1830s vintage home, gradually returning to work at local YMCAs, most recently teaching life guarding and swimming.
In addition to a positive can-do attitude, Stephanie brings strong strategic and organizational skills and a broad range of experiences to her work with Dream Local Digital. When not working Stephanie revels in her family time camping, boating, or snowmobiling, and on the motorcycles and the softball field with her husband.
Andrea Masse, Client Success Coordinator
Andrea was born and raised in Southern California. After school, she joined the army where she served as an air traffic controller in Fort Hood, Texas. After her stint in the army, she returned to California and started school. She also began her career in sales and customer service, gaining experience in the health services, temporary employee services, telecommunications and real estate industries. In 1991, she moved to Maine with her family and continued her customer service career in the senior housing industry. From there, she moved into media sales and service where she was the west coast regional manager for an imaging and document management publication. There she was introduced to online marketing via the company’s first website.
In her spare time, Andrea enjoys walking four miles a day with her Shetland Sheepdogs Oscar and Rachel. She also enjoys gardening (growing Dahlias, in particular), cooking (Italian, and experimenting with new recipes, most of which are successful) and entertaining. She enjoys reading while floating on the river in the summertime. She has recently returned to playing the flute, which she enjoyed while she was growing up.
Emily Felger, Marketing Strategist
Emily has been a photographer, food stylist, Muppet wrangler, comics editor, wine columnist, and marketing copywriter. Raised in CT, she settled in Maine after living in Brooklyn, NY and Albuquerque, NM. She holds a BFA in Photography from the School of Visual Arts in NYC, and was invited back as a judge on the alumni scholarship panel in 2015. She serves as Mixers Chair on the board of AIGA Maine, where she plans social and educational events for creative professionals in Maine.
She spends her spare time making art, watching birds, attending meetups in Portland, and taking online classes in everything from user interface design to drafting custom sewing patterns.
Kimberly Grindle, Senior Marketing Strategist
Kimberly is a native of the Deer Isle-Stonington area, where she graduated from Deer Isle-Stonington High School in 2008 and has a bachelor of science in media studies from the New England School of Communications at Husson University. For 7 years Kimberly worked in radio in a variety of roles, most recently as news director at Star 97.7/WNSX-FM in Ellsworth where she won numerous awards from the Maine Association of Broadcasters. She’s excited to take on a new challenge professionally with Dream Local Digital. She loves interacting with people and loves to help businesses improve and succeed.
When not spending time on the web, she enjoys fashion, video games, listening to podcasts, road trips, and being thrifty. She is an avid animal lover.
Michaela Caizzi, Senior Marketing Strategist
Born and raised in Maryland, Michaela is currently a remote team member living in Woodbine, MD. She has a B.S. degree in Marketing Management from Virginia Tech and is a proud Hokie. Prior to joining Dream Local, she worked at Cape Air and was stationed on Block Island. Michaela also has extensive creative program management experience from TSL Marketing, a technology marketing agency located in Columbia, MD. She enjoy’s creating internal marketing plans as well as strategies for clients. She has a passion for all things marketing/advertising related and loves working in an industry that is fun and constantly changing.
In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, relaxing on the beach, traveling to new locations, browsing Pinterest and creating crafts, practicing yoga, baking, and eating grilled cheese.
