I grew up in Waterville, Maine and majored in Music Therapy at the University of Miami. I joined the Navy and worked on RADAR and Flight Deck Communications equipment. In 2003 my ship, the USS Kearsarge, deployed to the Persian Gulf with six other ships and 10,000 Marines for Operation Iraqi Freedom. After the Navy, I finished my degree in Psychology from Purdue. Eight states and 18 years later, I returned to Maine to raise my two boys, Jake and Joe.
I joined Dream Local Digital as an Analyst in March 2017, but my start in digital marketing was managing the Twitter account for BringChange2Mind, a foundation created by Glenn Close to end the stigma of mental illness. I also worked for a small family restaurant in Augusta, Maine and managed all aspects of their digital marketing and earned media campaigns. It was intuitive for me to make the transition from Psychology, which is the “scientific study of the human mind and behavior,” to the marketing and communications field. At Purdue, I studied how to leverage data and statistics to improve outcomes and cost effectiveness while engaging consumers.
In my/our spare time, my sons and I enjoy all types of live music and if we need to travel to get there, even better! I also spend time serving my local community on the boards of The Family Violence Project, The Betsy Ann Ross House of Hope, and as a Mentor for the Veteran Mentors of Maine.
