The Maine Lobster Festival is an annual festival taking place on the coast of Rockland, Maine.

It’s five days of fun, feasting, and celebrating Maine’s lobster industry. In 2022, after a two year hiatus due to Covid, the Festival celebrated its 75th anniversary.

  • OBJECTIVES – The Festival came to Dream Local Digital with the primary goal of increasing attendance and awareness of the Festival on a national level. A secondary objective was to promote the Festival as the ultimate foodie experience.

  • CHALLENGES – With the Festival not happening for two years due to Covid, the challenge was getting the word out all across the country that the 2022 Maine Lobster Festival was going to happen and that it was a can’t miss event.

  • SOLUTIONS – Dream Local Digital launched a comprehensive digital marketing strategy that employed social media, paid advertising on Google and social media, a new website, and SEO optimization.

OUR RESULTS

Increased Social Media Engagement

All social media channels saw increases in impressions and engagements, particularly Facebook, with 5.3M post impressions and a 230% increase in engaged users from the previous year.

Increased Website Traffic

Traffic to the website increased, with new users increasing 43% and page views increasing by 123% from the previous year.

Record Attendance

Throughout the five days of the Festival there was a record number of visitors and over 22,000 lbs. of lobster sold – another record.
