Discussing “What’s Next” in online marketing with Dream Local Digital’s Shannon Kinney

Shannon Kinney is the Founder and CEO of Dream Local Digital. She has more than 15 years of experience in the development of successful Internet products, sales, and marketing strategies. Kinney has worked on the teams that developed successful Internet brands and more than 60 online media properties for newspapers in the U.S. and Canada. She is an expert in the field of online marketing and social media and she is one of MaineBiz’s Women to Watch in 2013.
Tell me a bit about your company. What needs are you meeting that other companies are not?
Dream Local Digital helps small businesses manage their online marketing so they can manage their businesses. We also specialize in helping media companies, ad agencies, web development firms and more expand their product line so that they can offer more solutions to their advertisers and clients. For the traditional media sector in particular, they are experiencing a huge shift in revenue to mobile and digital products, and we assist them in achieving growth in those areas. We’ve worked with thousands of small businesses through workshops throughout North America, and we have run hundreds of campaigns, strategy development, design and execution for clients. In terms of what space we specialize in, really it’s content marketing. We help businesses tell their story and then use tools like e-mail, social media, blogs, video, search engines and more to get that story out there.
