Get to know our newest #HoneyBadger, Jillian.

Jillian Bedell has been creating content as a freelancer for Dream Local for two years, and is excited to learn more about the business of social as a marketing strategist.

Jillian has a degree in literature from a small college in New Haven, Connecticut. Since graduating she has lived in Brooklyn, Los Angeles, a fishing village in Mexico, and is finally settled on a wild peninsula in Maine, with her dashing husband, two young daughters, and a Great Pyrenees puppy named Lucy.

She has done many jobs on her journey toward this life. She has edited continuing education manuals for mental health professions, been an assistant to the founder of a progressive graduate school, learned to blend foundation in a cool makeup boutique, ghostwritten a book on subtle energy, and hand-sold her favorite titles in an independent bookstore.

She wrote the original copy for Delicacies Jewelry, a line of bracelets and necklaces for Epicureans; food folklore, mythology, and symbolism has long been a passion of hers.

Jillian and her husband write the blog From Away.com, a website about Maine’s people, places, and cooking traditions. Living in Maine is as idyllic as she always thought it would be, though harder, and kinder, and more rewarding.

She is delighted to work on Main Street in Rockland, a soulful, salty town, and super stoked to be at Dream Local Digital full-time. She loves telling stories, helping people share what matters most, connecting clients with an audience, and finding meaning in everyday work.
