Please join us in welcoming #HoneyBadger carly dorsky to the #DreamTeam as an administrative assistant. Here’s her background, in her own words:
“I grew up right here in Midcoast Maine and have been a “right-brain” creative human for as long as I can remember. I spent the majority of my childhood in Appleton, where my family lived on a farm with our cats, dogs, rabbits, chickens, cows, and horse. It was during these years that my love and appreciation for the outdoors grew, and also when I first got my hands on a camera. I never got over the joy that photography brought me, and I would continue to explore that realm, regardless of what happened in the years to come. I connected further with friends, families, and strangers through my love of the craft.
After graduating, I somehow found myself in the finance industry; first in mutual funds, then a local community bank. I loved the communications aspect of the positions I held, as well as the support role I played for my teams while working for these companies, but I was always itching for more time to focus on my creative outlet – I had built my photography into a business. After rebranding and relaunching my business in 2018, things began to take off faster than expected, and I knew I needed to find something part time. That being said, I didn’t want to jump into another job that wasn’t “me.” After months of looking, I did not expect to find a position at a company that aligned so much with my personal and professional values, so when I found out that Dream Local Digital was hiring, I knew it was the right move. I’d had my eye on DLD since around 2015 and had seen the growth and reputation flourishing over the years. I knew that the mission and people behind the brand at Dream Local were genuine and that it was a place I could be proud to be a part of – a place where storytelling and personal branding were held in high regard.
When I am not working, I’m usually doing one of the following: connecting with clients, spending time with my partner and our rescue puppy Kenai, editing a client gallery, eating Ben & Jerry’s, listening to a podcast, photographing a wedding, hiking, or watching The Office or Parks & Rec.”
See Carly and the rest of the Dream Team.
